"Hello, I am Leonard Nimoy.
The following tale of alien encounters is true. And by
true I mean false. It's all lies. But they are entertaining lies. In the end: Isn't that the real truth? The answer
is: No. Our story begins on a Friday morning in a little town called: Springfield."
It is Friday.
Everybody is heading for the weekend. Homer and
his friends leave early- Homer has connected a video recorder to the security monitoring system of the nuclear power plant showing him and friends in former times at work (eating, drinking dancing … in the room).
At night Mo does not allow Homer to drive home for obvious reasons. So Homer walks home through the dark forest. Soon he becomes afraid, begins to run and falls. Getting up Homer sees a bright light appearing and coming towards him – he is petrified. With a bright shine all around itself the figure moves towards him
saying: "Don't be afraid!" Horrified Homer flees and reaches his home out of breath and still terrified.
His wife listens to him at night, so do the children in the morning. While Marge tries to calm him down, it's great stuff for the kids to make fun of.
At work no one believes him either.
But two people do: Agents Mulder and Scully, FBI. After they
introduce themselves to Marge she, panic–stricken, confesses about the pen she took from the post office.
But they take Homer for some tests. First they show him aliens to identify, but the figure he has had encountered is not amongst
them. "This is a simple lie detector. I'll ask you a few yes or no questions and you just answer truthfully. Do you
understand?" "Yes!" Homer answers – and the detector blows up.
Trying to find out what had happened they get Homer to recreate the events of the evening – in vain.
No one believes Homer. Except Bart. Bart
says: "Because you've been so damned sure!" They decide to spend a night at the place Homer has encountered the phenomena and … the shining figure appears
again. "I bring you peace!" it says. After a short moment of fear Homer
responds: "As a representative of earth let me be the first to say: uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh!!!!!"
– because he burnt his foot in the campfire. Afraid the stranger disappears – all taped by Bart on videotape.

On TV: "And from this simple man came the proof that we are not alone. I am Leonard Nimoy, good night!"
(voice from the back :) "Aah, Mr. Nimoy, we still have 10 minutes left!"
"Oh! Ah, fine … let me get .. ah …. something out of my car …" (Leonard Nimoy leaves, quick steps are heard from the background and a car is speeding up - leaving)
In the news Homer's tape is shown and a crowd gathers in the forest to await the appearance of
the alien.
Bart asks Leonard Nimoy:
"Leonard Nimoy, what are you doing here?"
"Wherever there is mystery and the unexplained cosmic forces shall draw me near."
"Spock, what do you want on your hot dog?" The hot dog vendor asks him.
"Surprise me!" he answers and gets green stuff splashed onto his hot dog.
Suddenly all are stunned: The shining creature appears. "I bring you love!" All head for it so that it cannot escape and Lisa comes to protect it:
"You want an alien? Here is your alien! And uses a flashlight to reveal: It's Mr. Burns."
Smithers comes to his rescue too and explains that Mr. Burns takes a recreation procedure each Friday to make him fit again.
The shining comes from his work in the atomic plant. Leaving him twisted and disorientated after the treatment he vanishes into the forest – that's where Homer has met him that Friday night.
The shining Mr. Burns begins to sing: "Good morning starshine, the earth says:
'Hallo!'"
Leonard Nimoy joins in: "They twinkle above us, we twinkle below." And the crowd is singing along.
Marge and Homer kiss in the middle of the dancing and chanting crowd: "I'm proud of you Hoomy!"
